Town with a big heart
A very big thank you to each and every person who contibuted towards the success of the recent Art with a Heart exhibition and auction. Our total sales to date are in excess of R 125,000 with one major painting still to sell.
To aid the vulnerable children at the Izibusiso Foster Home in Zwelihle, our local artists (plus a few from surrounding areas) agreed to “paint and donate” and together they set a standard of enthusiasm and generosity which was followed by everyone else who became involved in the project.
Our grateful thanks go to:
- The local artists who, together, painted a picture of human solicitude;
- Glenda Pope and staff of The Mission House Gallery in Onrus;
- deVere International, particularly Charles Winshaw and Hansa Winshaw;
- Mayor Nicolette Botha-Guthrie for her support;
- Nick and Inge Altona de Klerk, auctioneers of note;
- Natalie Bowling whose reativity enhanced the project;
- Newton Johnson, Gabrielskloof, Rivendell and Barton who so generously donated wine for the opening and auction nights;
- Madre’s Kitchen who catered for both events;
- Eunice Rademeyer from Goozi for donating Le Creuset stoneware;
- The Hermanus Times for gracious and sympathetic coverage of the project and
- the Hermanus public who so generously supported the exhibition and auction, once again proving that Hermanus is a town with a big heart.
