Stage 1 has a long-distance of 40 km with 626 m climbing and stage 2 has a long-distance: 53 km with 840 m climbing.
Overberg MTB Events supports the extraordinary work and effort created by The Butterfly Centre in Stanford. A non-profit, it specialises in caring for children on the autism spectrum (many of whom are undiagnosed) in an environment where they cannot only receive proper individualised schooling and treatment but also thrive in a safe space, giving them a chance to re-enter the mainstream education system.
The Butterfly Centre depends heavily on donations and fundraisers. Many of the children at the school receiving support and assistance are from disadvantaged communities and can’t afford to pay school fees. However, they have never turned away. So The Butterfly Centre is kindly asking for your support in the form of donations, supporting their fundraisers and regular volunteering.
When entering the Stanford MTB Classic one can donate to The Butterfly Centre on the entry portal Entry Ninja created.
Overberg MTB Events will hand all monies raised at the event over to The Butterfly Centre, enabling it to continue creating opportunities for the children. For more information, contact AnnekeJacobs at anneke@overbergmtbevents. co.za.
