Voelklip/ Kammabaai/ Nannies Beach:
Break: Varied
Best board: Small wave board
Best time: Preferably when a light wind is blowing.
Wave: A great beginner wave for those looking to learn to surf. A relaxed wave to surf for intermediate surfers too.
Watch out for: There is a strong rip current, keep and eye out for sharks.
Langbaai:
Break: Left
Best board: More suited to body boarders and for those wanting to body surf.
Best time: Mid to high tide.
Wave: Hollow, short and fast.
Watch out for: The bay is narrow and the rock faces on either side are high.
Onrus:
Break: Varied due to the sandbar.
Best board: Short board wave.
Best time: Low tide.
Wave: the break is suited to surfers who have been in the water for a few years. The wave is not an ideal beginners wave. The waves that break at Onrus can get very strong and heavy at times.
Watch out for: Very strong rip currents that are quite dangers. Keep an eye out for sharks as well.
Kleinmond:
Break: Mainly left, there is a sandbar.
Best board: High performance board.
Best time: Mid to low tide.
Wave: Soft off the peak and strong.
Watch out for: Sharks and strong rip currents on the right hand side, there is a deep gulley in the front of the break line.
Betties Bay:
Break: Varied, sandbar.
Best board: High performance board.
Best time: Mid to low tide.
Wave: The wave is good, hollow and fast.
Watch out for: Sharks.
Arniston:
Break: Semi sand and semi sandstone, varied.
Best board: Long board and short board.
Best time: Low tide right through to high tide.
Wave: Soft wave, warm water, ideal for everybody.
Watch out for: Blue bottles that wash up from time to time when the wind blows.
