Salon Tips & Tricks For Your Hair
Hair Salon Tips & Tricks
If you are out for smooth and silky hair or hoping for sexy curls you might be going about it all wrong and breaking important hair rules.
With these salon tips and tricks you should have no problem fixing your hair dilemmas. There are also a few pointers thrown in from local hair dressers in Hermanus.
Dry Shampoo with a twist
After you have washed and dried your hair apply a dry shampoo to the roots, instead of when your hair is grimy and oily. By doing this you are preventing it from getting dirty during the course of the day. The added extra is that is will give you va-va volume!
Spritz
If you hair is looking a little drab when you wake up all you have to do is spray a little water all over the top layer of your hair. Dry your hair using a hair dryer along with a big barrel brush. Your hair will look silky and smooth without to much fuss.
When colouring your hair you should always use a salon aftercare to lock in the colour, seeing that shop shampoos and conditioners cause build up and strip the colour. Salon products give your hair just what it needs for longer lasting colour. – Werner Pretorius, Frinche Hair & Beauty Salon
Curly Sue
Do not clamp your tresses tightly around a curling iron, instead wrap them loosely and gently around the iron in sections, hold for 10 seconds and you will be sporting soft, natural curls in no time.
10 Minute rule
Whatever you are planning for your hair, may it be straightening, to curling and more remember to apply your styling products 10 minutes beforehand. By doing this you are allowing your hair to fully absorb the product.
When cutting a fringe, it must be dry. Parted the hair into a diamond shape on top of forehead, do not pull the hair, cut your desired length. – Werner Pretorius, Frinche Hair & Beauty Salon
Hang up the towel
Did you know that by having your hair up in a towel will only cause it to frizz even more. Squeeze out you hair when stepping out of the shower, air dry for 15 minutes and then blow dry.
Burst of cold
Before hopping out of the shower, crank open the cold tap for a few seconds while running your fingers through your hair. This will seal off the cuticle meaning sleek, glossy hair for you!
When blow drying, always section the hair and blow dry section for section, blow all the top hair to the back as this will give it its natural parting. – Werner Pretorius, Frinche Hair & Beauty Salon
Less Foam
Find a shampoo that foam less. Why? Shampoo’s that lather to much sometimes mean that they are overloaded with moisturises which can cause you hair to become greasier during the course of the day. Opt for a sulphate free shampoo to prevent product build up.
