Hermanus Mountain Bike Trail
The trail may be picked up at any point and is signposted for clockwise travel. The surface is mainly jeep track with a few sandy/rocky patches and short linking sections on tar.
An average rider may ride the 15km in less than 90 minutes. It skirts the houses, passing through profuse Fynbos with butterflies, birds, baboons, mongoose, frogs, tortoises, snakes and lizards. The spoor of nocturnal porcupine, buck, and otter can also be seen. Take time to appreciate the views.
Do not stray on to paths excluding bicycles and respect the rules of the Fernkloof Nature Reserve.
Carry a basic repair kit, water and cellphone. Best ridden with a friend.
