A Decal Flower Chalk Painted Filing Cabinet
A Decal Flower Chalk Painted Filing Cabinet
We all know how ugly a basic office filing cabinet can be, but did you know that you can change the way it looks with a lick of chalk paint?
Remember you can buy chalk paints from The Plough Shed in Hermanus.
What you will need…
- Metal Filing Cabinet
- Primer
- Paint brushes, paint roller and paint tray
- Chalk paint in white (flowers) and any other color of your choice.
- Stencil
- Acrylic Sealer
Method…
Your first step will be to paint the primer onto the cabinet. Give it two good coats. Once the primer has dried and you are happy with the result paint the cabinet in the color of your choice. This will also require two coats of paint.
Next start with your stencils, this requires a steady hand, use some tape if you need to set them in place.
A piece of foam works well to fill in the stencils. Once the stencil art has dried you can cover the entire cabinet with a coat of clear acrylic sealer.
For and an added extra you can swop the regular handles for smarter more arty ones.
