You are sure not to disappoint anybody around the Christmas tree this festive season!
Candy Cane Sugar Scrub
Don’t throw out any glass jars. If you do not have any you can purchase them from shopping centres or hobby and craft stores. This is a great festive gift!
Ingredients
2 Cups of granulated white sugar
1/3 Cup of light olive oil
1/8 Cup of coconut oil (you can use olive oil or any other oil too)
1/4 Teaspoon of peppermint extract or essential oil
Red food dye
Method
Mix all ingredients together until you have reached the desired consistency and smell. Split the mixture into two parts, leave the one plain. With the other half add a few drops of red food dye until you have reached the colour you feel is best. (Tip – A little food dye goes a long way so be careful.) Once you are done begin to add layers of coloured and non coloured scrub into an airtight container. Finish off with a red ribbon, stick of candy cane and a Christmas tag.
Ooo sugar sugar!
Cow Girl Cookies
This is a yummy Christmas idea that is easy on the pocket and looks beautiful in a jar.
Ingredients:
1 1/3 cup all purpose flour, spooned into measuring cup & levelled
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup cooking oats
3/4 cup m&ms or smarties
3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
1/3 – 1/2 cup chopped pecan nuts
Method:
Fill your glass jar with even levels of the ingredients, like what you see in the photo. Top with checkered material and finish off with a ribbon or leather string.
Tip: For the back of the Christmas tag remember to include the baking instructions.
Baking instructions:
Stir all the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Then add 1 slightly beaten egg, 1/2 cup of butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence into dry ingredients. Use the back of a large spoon to work it all together. You may even need to use your hands to get everything mixed together. Roll the cookie dough into 3 cm balls, place on a baking paper covered baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes in a preheated 180 degree celsius oven. This recipe makes about 28 cookies.
Yee Haw!
His And Hers Mugs
This is a wonderful gift for a couple and inexpensive too!
All you need is white porcelain mugs purchased from any shopping centre and a permanent marker.
Write your message onto the mug with the marker. For men: “Good morning handsome!” And for women: “Good morning beautiful!”
Place them onto a baking tray and bake them at 180 degree’s for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and wait for them to cool before using them.
Fill with sweets or hot chocolate and marshmallows, wrap them up and pop them under the Christmas tree for your loved ones.
