Erinvale Golf Course
Erinvale Golf Course is set against the Helderberg and Hottentots Holland mountains, with breathtaking views of the surrounding wine estates and glimpses of the sea from the higher areas on the course.
Situated in Somerset West, about 50km north of Cape Town, Erinvale is located opposite the historic Vergelegen Wine Estate – a great place for lunch and to buy some excellent wine.
Erinvale played host to the 1996 World Cup of Golf in which thirty two participating nations competed. This is an estate course of two distinctly different nines. Erinvale’s demanding front nine meanders through park-like terrain, whilst the back nine provide a contrasting challenge winding its way through the foothills of the mountains with panoramic views of False Bay.
Designed by Gary Player, Erinvale’s beautifully manicured par 72 championship course boasts some of the country’s most challenging and spectacular holes. The greens at Erinvale are huge and well-shaped allowing for several different pin placements. December and January are restricted to Members Only. Visitors welcome rest of year every day except Thursdays and weekends.
