Bikers Raise Money For The Sunflower Fund
The third Bikers4Bandanas Motorbike Ride was held at a new venue, Killarney International Raceway on Sunday, 23 November 2014. The bike ride was organized by the M.O.T.H. Motorcycle Association to raise funds to grow the South African Bone Marrow Registry.
Motorbikers have the most generous hearts and 1140 riders turned up and participated in the bike event, arriving on all makes, sizes and types of motorbikes MC for the day was well-known surf-reporter, Deon Bing adding a highlight to the day and the crowd were entertained to live music provided by “Off the Record” and “ Bourbon Street”. Various stalls displayed their latest biking merchandise, while food and beverage stalls were available to the many bikers and their families.
One stall provided an opportunity to have hair shaved or dyed to show solidarity for leukaemia patients who often lose their hair as a result of the treatment they receive.
All funds raised will be used to pay for new donors to join the South African Bone Marrow Registry and build a registry representative of all ethnic races to help save the lives of patients diagnosed with leukaemia and other life-threatening blood disorders.
