Helderberg Wine Festival offers Fundraising Opportunity
The Helderberg Wine Festival is inviting all local registered charity organizations who are planning fund raising drives in the last quarter of the year to apply for one of the “crowd pleaser” events which forms part of the festival from Thursday, 15 until Sunday, 18 November 2012.
“This is the 5th Festival and we wanted to give more charities the opportunity to benefit from the steady crowds attending every year. We have approximately 8 time slots available throughout the 4 days of the event, which can be used by charities paired with participating wineries, to raise funds,” says organiser Cobie van Oort.
“There are a few ground rules to the applications which include that the charity has to have a fundraising number and be registered as such. Preference will be given to charitable organisations from the Helderberg (Somerset West, Gordon’s Bay, Strand and Sir Lowry’s Pass) and Stellenbosch areas. Also we would invite partners to “think big” so as to ensure that their effort draws the crowds thereby raising substantial funds, and the more exciting the idea, the better to ensure sufficient publicity for the “crowd-pleaser”,” she says.
Over and above the big fundraisers, many smaller local charities benefit from the festival and can team up with wineries independently to generate funds . “All events don’t have to becrowd-pleasers,” says Cobie.
Please contact Cobie at 083-556-3740 or via email at cobie@cvomarketing.co.za to find out how to apply to form part of the event and for any information needed. Applications close on 17 September, so jump in now!
