The G Sport Award makes a Hat Trick for Montjane
Thursday, 21 November 2013, Johannesburg, South Africa. – Kgothatso Montjane, South Africa’s number one women’s wheelchair tennis player, was crowned Sportswoman of the Year with a disability at the Spar G Sport Awards in Johannesburg on Wednesday. The Spar G Sports Awards are an annual event aimed at celebrating and honouring South African women in sport.
It was an elated Montjane who claimed the title for the second time in four days. Montjane was also named the SA Sportswoman of the year with a disability at the recent SA Sports Awards, and earlier this year Montjane was honoured at the Gauteng Sports Awards as Sportswoman of the Year with a disability.
Paralympian Montjane can boast a successful year in 2013. She won three significant SA sporting awards and 33 titles to date on the international wheelchair tennis tour. Montjane says, “I believe it comes down to hard work, dedication and the support I receive from my sponsor, Airports Company South Africa, my family and the Federation.”
