Paragliding at Sir Lowry’s Pass
One of the flying sites of Paraglide South Africa is from the look-out point at the top of Sir Lowry’s Pass on the N2, a mere 30 minute drive from Cape Town and a stone’s throw from Somerset West, Gordon’s Bay and Strand, at the edge of the Hottentots Holland mountain range.
This site is flown during the off season when the winds are in a westerly direction, and what makes this site different is that you step out of the car and onto the launch site, no walking required.
Flights from this site are mostly buoyant and on a good day you are able to fly into the high mountains and back. You can be assured that a good flight from this location will put a smile on your dial so wide that you will want to relive these moments over and over.
The landing field is at the base of Sir Lowry’s Pass and they are able to drive between landing and take-off without any recovery problems.
