Date Idea’s For Valentine’s Day While Social Distancing
Spending time with your partner is SO important and still VERY possible!
For those who still want to stay safe during these crazy, uncertain times… Here are some Date Night Ideas for you while still social distancing:
Have a picnic by candlelight
With summer still here, loads of couples are looking for fun dates outdoors. One classic option is a candlelit picnic.
Catch the sunset or make it an early morning sunrise with mimosas and breakfast and if you and your partner end up are quarantining apart, order food from their favorite restaurant and have it delivered up on their doorstep – It’s a very romantic gesture!
Solve a puzzle
Another simple date with deep meaning is a puzzle date. Purchase a big puzzle(eg. 1000 piece puzzle), put the phones away, and work on the puzzle together.
Puzzle dates can be “extremely intimate and quiet.” Something subconscious starts to happen as you’re sitting there with each other, trying to figure out how the puzzle pieces fit together…
Be a tourist in your own city
Though many are wary of traveling right now, there are still ways for couples to see the sights without boarding a plane or cruise ship.
Explore your town together, visiting markets, stopping at every little landmark and taking the time to Google it!
It’s a super-easy thing that you can do, but it’s also such a different thing, because most of the time, we take for granted our surroundings. This is a really cool way to get to know your significant other and still have a fun time just walking around the city.
Go on a romantic scavenger hunt
Another fun way for couples to get out of the house is to go on a romantic scavenger hunt.
Plant clues for your partner that lead to different locations important to your relationship.
It’s leading you to the place where you first met, maybe where you had your first date…It’s a fun little activity that I think you and your partner would find very unexpected, but really fun!
Challenge your partner to a cook-off with random pantry ingredients
The beauty of this time together is that it doesn’t have to look fancy, it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money, yet it can still be a great intimate and romantic time together.
If you have a few random cupboard supplies to spare, blindly select your ingredients and assign a time limit to each other to make something edible. This game can be adapted to suit what you have in storage and/or cooking ability.
Do you dare to begin a board game tournament?
Getting a board game tournament started could be a fun way to entertain yourselves for hours!
Tick off your movie bucket list with marathon screenings at home
We’ve all got that Netflix list a mile long with saved films we’ll get to “one day.” Well, make it happen now while you can!
Spending more time at home means that you can get around to watching the movies you always said you would. Take it in turns one evening to each pick a flick off your “bucket list” and make the night extra special with a few finishing touches.
Have a dress-fancy drinks party in your kitchen
The temptation to opt for some form of comfy loungewear at home all day every day is tough to ignore since the outside world likely won’t be seeing you for a while.
But pull out that “sexy dress” from the back of your closet (or a nice shirt works too) to remind your partner how good you can actually clean up! Honor the occasion with a semi-formal drinks party for you both, where you can make creative cocktails with whatever you’ve got at home.
It’s important in these scenarios you break the routine, so you don’t want to be doing these things in your pajamas or t-shirt. You actually want to dress up for it, spray some perfume, smell good, and look nice for each other — even though it’s at home.
Sing your hearts out to karaoke songs
If either you or your partner are great at singing, then joking around on microphones is not going to be much fun for the other person. But if you’re both relatively bad to average in holding a tune while having bags of enthusiasm, singing karaoke songs into hairbrushes or the TV remote is a silly activity that could leave you both crying with laughter.
Home Spa – Day
The perfect pamper date is here!
Grab your partner and have a home day-spa! Use household products to make your own face masks – it’s cheap and effective, take a long bath with some bubbly ( Thank you Mr. President for allowing us to buy alcohol again, hehe! ) massages, and foot rubs!
