Winter Wonderland Newsletter | April 2013
Hi to all Gordon’s Bay Residents and Friends
Winter Wonderland is fast approaching. This year will be twofold:
1. Festival of Lights – 22 June – 22 July when the lights will be shining and some activities during the school holidays.
Ghost House, Fun Fair and Boat trips will be open and restaurants will have specials on.
We are in negotiation with another exciting event that may also take place for the duration of the holidays.
2. Carnival Weekend – 28 – 30 June
This is the main weekend when all the activities, festivities and carnival atmosphere will be.
There will be many more new activities taking place as more locals are becoming involved.

Very Important:
We need to light up our village!
The bigger picture is beginning to become a reality!
Bookings are coming in for guest houses – some are already fully booked and have passed bookings onto others.
More people are still getting involved in the organization of the event – THANK YOU!
Winter Wonderland is by GB for GB and not a few people doing it for GB.
Other towns are beginning to copy our ideas and our words “Winter Wonderland Festival”.
Some are even having spectacular light displays.
NOW is the time to act and support this wonderful event and our village.
Lights:
Everyone needs to put up lights. GB will be a fairy tale village.
We need to “over decorate” our homes and businesses – decorating them so as can be seen from the beach to make a spectacular display.
If you cannot do that just one string will make a difference.
If you are selling lights in GB, please let us know so that we can tell everyone where they can find lights.
Funds:
We need funds to enable us to put up more lights.
Our Winter Wonderland Wall is starting up again.
Thank you to Tallas who has sponsored money, GBSec and The Tavern who have pledged to sponsor money.
ALL financial sponsors will be recognized on our wall. Watch our thermometer growing again.
To make a financial contribution – any amount is extremely welcome:
Bank: Nedbank, Somerset Mall
Name: Winter Wonderland

Branch Code: 11414500

If you need an invoice with our NPO number – please reply to this e-mail and we will send you one.
WW Tins as well as raffle sheets are at some of the businesses – please support – your R5 will make a difference!

Meeting:
Everyone is welcome to join the Gordon’s Bay Business Forum’s AGM on Wednesday 8 May at Villa Via at 8am.
You do not have to be a member. This will be the 2nd last meeting before the event and important and exciting aspects will be discussed.
