NSRI Station 9:Gordon’s Bay’s t Talent – Friday 25 May ’12
Sadly the finals of the Gordon’s Bay’s Got Talent came to an end on Friday evening, 25 May 2012. The club was packed with supporters cheering along their favorite contestant, each secretly hoping they would win. The judges were in for a tough time with the contestants and during the evening their facial expression said it all “This is not going to be easy!”.
During the evening an auction was held with the assistance of Erik Reeder who auctioned some KWV wines, a painting (R4000.00) painted and donated by Loan Tanner to a helium balloon (R150.00) and much more. Some of the NSRI volunteers put on a “surprise act” to show the crowd that they too had talent, even if it was with a bit of help from helium balloons.
A special thank you to all that supported us during the Talent show. Our judges over the course of the four weeks: Kevin Wearing (Leapfrog), Jamey Thomas (District Mail), Peter Robertson (CTICC Chef), Cyril Brown (Gordon’s Bay Review), Karen Combrinck (NSRI) and Bronwyn Hamilton. Our MC, Ralph Panebianco who made sure the crowd was kept on their toes. To all our sponsors: Gordon’s Bay Yacht Club, Sunset Recording, Shark Cage Diving, Berg en Zee, Rydal McDonald (sponsor of the lights), Zenergy Lighting & Energy Consulting, Paul Bothner, Loan Tanner, Jacques Greyling, ShowMe, Gordon’s Bay Review, Build-A-Bear, Cottage Hair Studio, Blue Bottle Liquors, Protea Hotel, just to name a few. Without these sponsors the evening would not have been possible. To all the contestants that took part and their families that supported them, as well as the NSRI volunteers that assisted every week with door duty and the raffles. A big thank you!
Congratulations to Karla Booysen, winner of Gordon’s Bay’s Got Talent 2012
We look forward to our next Talent show in 2013 and hope to see you all back again.
NSRI Station 9 raised R25 000 during the Gordon’s Bay’s Got Talent and thank you for your support!
