The Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum is a community-based museum that commemorates the migrant labour system within the Helderberg region and the greater South Africa. The museum does not only focus on the history of the area but has tremendously played an integral part in the community and its orphans of the society. ???
Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum, annually hosts Christmas Day for Lwandle orphans housed in three orphanages in the area. This is our way of giving back to the community we serve. The event will be held on the 13th December 2019 for 180 children, at Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum. The following orphanages will be the recipients for this year; Mama Lumka, Mama Tom and Mama Mamfene orphanage house. Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum began the programme in 2014, and has since grown, hence we continue to host it annually. The aim is not just to celebrate Christmas day, but to empower, motivate and assuring them that the community has their back no matter how difficult their current situation which they might currently find themselves in. The success of this project relies solely on donations.
