Photos of the Anti-Racism Golf Day | Mbombela Golf Club

Mbombela – Local prestige golf course, The Mbombela Golf Club recently held their 2nd annual Ant-Racism Golf Day with honoured guest, Mr Robert Gumede attending as per usual.

After playing a round of golf on a cloudy Lowveld day with other invited guests on one of South Africa’s most scenic courses and the #UltimateBushveldGolfingExperience, Mr Gumede was welcomed into the club with a traditional dance display to much excitement by fellow guests on the day.

After some announcements regarding this special day, Mr Gumede was then welcomed to the stage by Club CEO , Mr Darren Plumb and Club Captain Mr Angelo Sebastian where he then explained the origin of the now much anticipated annual golf day. “I am extremely pleased to see the results of the clubs commitment the past 2 years and their ongoing efforts to become a recognised Golf Club – free of racial barriers and for a fair and undivided South Africa,” said Mr Gumede.

He also added: “the change can not only be seen on the ground, but crucially in the clubs’ top executives with a black Club Captain, Mr Angelo Sebastian and a black Club President, Mr Marcus Mdhluli.”

Mr Plumb then finished off before prize giving saying that: ““The day was enjoyed by golfers from all walks of life and goes to show that sport brings us all together as South Africans on and off the course. “
