Hazyview is the ideal base from where you can explore everything the Lowveld has to offer, from the world-famous Kruger National Park, the Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s Luck Potholes to God’s Window and much more. With its tropical climate Hazyview is a beautiful town, especially in spring when the first rain clears the skies and transforms the bush landscapes into different shades of deep greens.
The positioning of the town so close to the Kruger Park has made it a very popular holiday destination, particularly among international tourists, resulting in the establishment of great a number of luxury game lodges, guest houses, self-catering accommodation and tented camps catering for the well heeled ‘Big 5 safari tourist’.
Many choose to stay in Nelspruit and Hazyview as a base from which to visit Mpumalanga and more specifically the Lowveld area.
Camping facilities, self-catering chalets and caravan parks offer a more adventurous type of accommodation for younger travelers, locals and family groups. This is most apparent during the school holidays when families pack the car for the annual Kruger Park trip and then again in early July when Nelspruit hosts its annual Afrikaans arts festival, ‘Innibos’ which is only a short 45min drive.
Hazyview offers a unique escape from the hustle and bustle of other big cities and with many activities in the surrounding area, including animal sanctuaries (Chimp Eden and Elephant Whisperers) and the adventure sports in the Sabie area (Canopy tours and White Water rafting) it is the holiday destination in the Mpumalanga Lowveld.
Tourism is not the only source of business for local accommodation establishments. As two of the quickest growing towns in South Africa, Nelspruit and Hazyview attracts thousands of businessmen monthly and the hotels and guest houses of the area are well set up to accommodate all their business needs, many with full conference facilities and amenities.
