Harties Resident Expanding Film Industry

Hartbeespoortdam is set to becoming a filming frontal with a brand new South African Television series promoting its official production space to be “Harties”

The Crossing TV Series – is a new upcoming Drama-Thriller Television Series that will be making Hartbeespoortdam it’s home for production. The show is set to shoot most of it’s episodes and scenes in Harties that will be used as a backdrop for the show’s own fictional town called “Lakewood”. The show promises something unique and intriguing that has not been seen or done in South African Television History and local residence are very excited for such a big project to be coming to our doorsteps.

The Crossing is created and developed by one of Harties’ own residents – Nicho Barnard. Nicho is a young and aspiring film director from Hartbeespoortdam but he grew up in the Free State. At such a young age, he is running a production company and already in charge of directing and creating such a big show that is set to revolutionize the South African TV Industry. Barnard expressed that the project has been something he has been working on for a while and that he is very excited to take the show to great heights and to show it to the world.

“The story is something that I think South Africa will indulge and they will absolutely love. The show promises entertainment, amazing actors and high quality professional content that can compete with International Brands”, says Nicho.

The Crossing is set to hopefully start filming in July 2017 in our very own Harties, with 80% of production being in and around Hartbeespoortdam, the other 20% will be in Johannesburg, Pretoria and in studio. The show is hoping to premiere on SABC in October / November 2017 if not even maybe early 2018.

The Crossing looks like a show that will possibly become a phenomenal hit show… And we can’t be more excited to have our own hometown “Harties” as a backdrop for the creation of something that might just go down as one of the biggest shows in South African history!
