Om Die Dam Ultra Marathon
Om Die Dam Ultra Marathon
Hartbeespoort is host to the Old Mutual Om Die Dam Ultra Marathon. This race has been voted one of the top national races for its family fun appeal as well as the scenic route it follows. The race is named after the route it follows around the dam with the start and finish line being the same point.
This is the largest inland ultra-marathon in South Africa, offering a 50km ultra marathon, a 21km half-marathon, a 10km route and a 5km fun run.
2014 sees the 24th Om Die Dam being run and the event has become very popular amongst the locals, many of whom can be found along the route either in support of the runners, or as volunteers assisting at water and traffic points.
This year is once again set to be one of great fun and achievement.
