Best Exercise to Beat Cancer – Rebounding!
Endorsed by CANSA (Cancer Association of South Africa), the Rebounder is mini trampoline-like piece of equipment and has been sited by Cancer Survivors worldwide as an important component of their journey into health.
Jumping for joy on a trampoline after learning you are positive for cancer is possibly the last thing to do on your bucket list – but could quite possibly hold the key to your healing.
Developed by an American Olympic Wrestler, Albert Earl Carter in 1977, The Miracle of Rebound Exercise was first published in 1979 and has continued to bring health and fitness to both the young athlete and aging invalid since.
Rebounding was the term coined by Carter to describe the series of exercises performed on the specially built, tightly sprung mini trampolines and includes the ‘healing bounce’, ‘strengthening bounce‘ and ‘aerobic bounce‘. Rebounding has phenomenal immune-boosting benefits on the body, particularly the lymph system. For this reason, Rebounding is recommended as a potent cancer fighting strategy.
The Lymphatic system (composed of tonsils, thymus, bone marrow, spleen, lymphatic fluid, vessels, and lymph nodes) plays an integral role in the body’s defense system, producing white blood cells (lymphocytes) to ward off foreign attacking organisms and clearing the body of toxins, dead cells and metabolic waste via the lymphatic fluid.
Although the lymph system has about three times more fluid to carry via the lymph vessels than the blood circulatory system, it does not have a ‘pump’ to move it. The movement of lymph relies solely on muscle movement and gravity to circulate, which takes on average 48 hours to complete one cycle. Just four minutes of rebounding can stimulate a complete lymph circuit!
Hence, Rebounding is an excellent immune-boosting, cancer fighting exercise.
