Amazing Food Art by Carl Warner
Foodscapes created by Carl Warner
We have always been told that food is not toys, is made to be eaten… but thankfully some people tend not to listen to this and create exceptional wonders using only food.
Art can truly be created out so many mediums, and although food is often used as one of these, it is not normally is such amazing detail.
These works look as if they could have been painted on canvas, not constructed out just food. Yet food id the only medium used in all of these foodscapes.
In some the food is easier to spot than in others, especially when you take quick glance ….
We have always been told that food is not toys, is made to be eaten…
These masterpieces have been created by Carl Warner a London-based photographer who makes foodscapes: landscapes made of food. He originally began his career with a view to become an illustrator thanks to his good talent for drawing. He however quickly discovered that his ideas and creative eye was better suited for photography – a faster and more exiting medium to work with.
Inspiration seemed hard to find, but one day while walking around a food market he found some wonderful portabello mushrooms – which he thought looked like some kind of tree from an alien world – so he took them back to his studio with a few other ingredients such as rice seeds and beans with a view to try and create a miniature scene on a table top. The Mushroom Savanna became his first “Foodscape” and since then he has not looked back.
Let this be a lesson to all that creativity should not be hidden just because mother said, “Don’t play with your food”
