COMMIS CHEF
A wonderful opportunity exists for a commis chef to join a 5* property. Our client is looking for a chef with drive and passion for the industry, and the ability to keep up with the high pace, and sincere commitment to exceed expectations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a matric or equivalent
- 6 months formal chefs training
- 1 year working experience in a quality production kitchen
- Experience within 4* or 5* environment will be advantageous
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Food preparation – as per specific area, according to specified menus, standards and in line with costing and portions
- Care of operating equipment – cleaning, repair, storage
- Adherence to all health & safety requirements including utmost cleanliness, recycling, pest control & general waste management
Soft skills to include:
- Creative
- Keen eye for detail
- able to work in fast paced, highly pressurized environment
- Be able to lift, carry and handle large utensils and food produce
- Willing to work long and flexible hours
Salary: R5000 ctc
