George Airport Flourish in this Summer Season
Passenger numbers at George Airport continue to soar as the summer season kicks off, boasting a remarkable 7% year-on-year increase for October. Impressively, over 68,000 passengers navigated through the airport during this period.
Looking at the broader picture, George Airport has warmly welcomed more than 645,000 passengers year-to-date, reflecting a robust 3% year-on-year growth compared to 2022.
Meanwhile, Cape Town International Airport’s domestic terminal experienced substantial growth, with a notable 23% year-on-year increase in October. The terminal facilitated the seamless travel of over 648,000 passengers during the month.
Examining the year-to-date figures for domestic passenger growth (January-October), there is a commendable 15% increase compared to the corresponding period in 2022. This brings the total domestic passengers to an impressive 5.59 million.
The positive trend extends to the international terminal, which recorded an impressive 35% year-on-year growth in October, accommodating over 237,000 passengers. Year-to-date, the international terminal’s growth stands at an outstanding 57%, surpassing the two million mark with over 2.2 million two-way passengers traversing through its gates.
