George riders excel in Gqeberha
A group of George Riding Club members, together with their coaches, Kelly Searle and AJ Rademacher, competed at the Reonet Classic horse show in Gqeberha from 9 to 11 September.
This show incorporated the Eastern Cape youth and children’s show-jumping championships. The lower grade horses jumped four classes and the open classes three.
Many competitors from Cape Town as well as East London, Grahamstown and Plettenberg Bay took part.
The George riders did their club proud with most of them getting places throughout the show.
The results are as follows:
- Kelly Searle and Equi-feeds Just Al: First, 2nd and 4th in the adult 1,30m class, as well as taking the 1,30m victrix ludorum.
- Julia McGregor and Mile Away: 1st and 7th in adult 1,20m and 4th in adult 1,30m.
- Lila Theunissen and Frosty Barak came 1st and 2nd in junior 1,30m and reserve junior Eastern Cape Championship and was named junior 1,30 victrix ludorum.
- Holly Crowther and Mick Dundee were 2nd and 5th in junior 1,20m.
- Alexis Human on Beautiful Strike was 3rd and 4th in the junior 90cm and 4th in the junior 90cm Eastern Cape Championship.
- Vida Bacon on Davenport Cassenova came 2nd in the junior 90cm and 3rd in the 90cm junior Eastern Cape Championship.
- Martha Parkhouse on Schwaike Enzo was the winner of the 90cm Eastern Cape Championship.
- Amber Massyn on Zossie won the pony rider 1m class, came 2nd in the pony rider 1,10m class and won the pony rider Eastern Cape 1,10m Championship.
- Jess Smith on Streaming was 1st in the adult 1,20m class and on Ora, she was 4th, 5th and 6th in the adult 80cm class. She also took 1st and 3rd in the adult 80cm class on Dragon Fruit.
- Shannon Conway on Ebb and Flow Beachcomer Laheeb ended 4th in the pony rider Eastern Cape 80cm Championship.
- Emma Swanepoel and Orion’s Belt were 2nd in the pony rider 1m class.
