4th Disc Golf Autumn League Event on Saturday
Disc Golf George is running the fourth event in its autumn league series on Saturday 6 May from 08:00 to 13:00 at the Rooirivierrif sports grounds.
Morné Galloway and Ingo Hilbert are currently sharing the lead position with a score of 43 each, followed by Leon Strauss in third place with 40 points and Bryan Wilson fourth with 36 points.
The course record of three under par is currently held jointly by Strauss and Galloway.
The fourth event is open to all players, new and regular, and is a great opportunity for anyone to try out disc golf. Events 4 and 5 will qualify for points to be part of the play-off final event on 3 June to determine the league winner.
There will be a male and female division in the final and participants will be eligible for prizes.
Says Strauss, chairman of the club, “The competitiveness and excitement for the final is starting to mount. We have had many new participants during this league and more players are purchasing their own equipment than ever before. We are also in the process of importing discs to make available to players at a competitive price to help grow the sport in George.”
For the autumn league, an upfront booking of three rounds can be done at R150 (R120 for players not requiring discs).
Only competitors over 16 may compete in this league (excluding regular younger players as determined by the Disc Golf George committee).
