Young Innovators to Shine at 10th Eden Karoo Expo for Young Scientists
Science enthusiasts and invention aficionados are in for a treat at Hoërskool Outeniqua on Saturday, July 27, where learners from the region will showcase their science projects and innovative designs.
The 10th Eden Karoo Expo for Young Scientists kicks off on Friday, July 26, giving learners the chance to present their projects. Judges will evaluate the projects and conduct personal interviews with the participants on Saturday. Winners will be recognized in 13 categories.
The public is invited to view the exhibition on Saturday, July 27, from 12:30 PM at Outeniqua High School’s Volschenk Hall.
This regional Escom competition marks a decade of celebrating young innovators’ ideas and inventions, meticulously developed under expert guidance.
This year’s competition structure is unique, as learners had to participate in various district expos to qualify for the regional competition. Only projects meeting specific criteria were selected to compete at the regional level.
“We look forward to welcoming approximately 100 projects from the region,” said Sonet Strydom, administrative assistant.
