Nedbank, Hyatt Hotel, Soli Philander and fabulousness set to tickle springtime fancies
The annual “Tickle your Fancy” charity event was hosted by Nedbank Business Banking was held on Saturday 8 October 2011 at the Hyatt Regency Oubaai Golf Resort & Spa.
This spectacular fundraising event for an array of beneficiaries promised fun and entertainment for each and every guest. The day began with a Ladies tea at 10h30 and ended off with the Carnival at Oubaai Fashion Extravaganza hosted by inimitable funny man and philanthropist Soli Philander at 17h30.
The Hyatt Regency Oubaai is no stranger to charitable causes and has played host to among others the “paint a future” campaign where disadvantaged children are tasked to paint their dreams. Now with the “Tickle your Fancy” charity event, they can once again go that extra mile for a great (and local) cause.
Beneficiaries of the charity event this year included Phambili Refuge for Battered Women & Children in George, Siyanithanada Disabled Child Care Centre in Mossel Bay, the Field Band Foundation in Plett, Coronation Memorial Care Centre for the Aged in Oudtshoorn, CATT (Child Abuse Trauma Team) Protocol Programme in Knysna and the Stilbaai Bejaardesorg (BADISA) in Riversdale.
Big prizes are where up for grabs and some of the amazing prize sponsors included the King George Protea Hotel, the Sheraton Pretoria Hotel and Towers or Bushman Sands Golf Course. By purchasing a R100 raffle ticket and contribute towards the event’s worthy beneficiaries, supporters can also get in on the prize-winning action. Other prizes guests can stand a chance to win include various treatment packages from Wizard’s Hair & Beauty Studio, Placecol in the Garden Route Mall, Hair Studio and Attitude Le Femme Hair Design; or delicious eats from Caloroso Coffee Shop, Kalahari Restaurant and Theatre, Lauren’s Deli Eatery and Good Things to Eat; cases of wine from Jakkalsvlei Private Cellar; free entry into Monkeyland and Birds of Eden in Plett; a Weber compact braai from Builder’s Warehouse; and vouchers from the Spar, Frank’s Flooring and Fabric World in George.
Spring is in the air and all around a new energy seems to have been unleashed. Blue is bluer, the sky is brighter and butterflies flutter a winged applause to welcome all the excitement. Saturday 8 October is the perfect day to tickle your fancy and ignite your own transformation into this new (life) season.
This is proof of Nedbank’s commitment to continue making a difference in the communities in which they operate.
