@lantic Sevens Schools Tournament hosted at Saasveld… again
Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University’s George Campus will once again be the host venue for the exciting @lantic Sevens Schools Tournament. It is scheduled for Saturday, 3 March 2012, from 08:30 onwards and is set to attract a large crowd of rugby enthusiast from the Southern Cape, George and the surrounding areas.
A range of schools will be participating in this year’s event, including two new contenders – Oakdale and Outeniqua High School, as well as the current champions, Hoërskool Oudtshoorn who will be defending their title in what promises to be another highlight to this fun filled day.
PW Botha College, Uniondale and George High School; Pacaltsdorp, Groot Brakriver, Parkdene, Haarlem, Gerrit du Plessis, Kairos, Bridgton, Môrester, Dysselsdorp Secondary Schools are among the other high schools that will be participating in this year’s tournament. Tygerberg High School will be participating on a non-official basis.
The tournament kicks off at the Saasveld sport ground in the morning and parents, learners, teachers, students and sevens rugby enthusiasts are encouraged to support these sportsmen throughout the day as they showcase their sevens rugby talents.
Food stalls and fun events will ensure wider appeal and keep old and young alike enthralled throughout this family-oriented day.
This year’s event is organized by SWD High Schools’ Rugby and NMMU George Sport. It is the second year that it is presented at Saasveld.
