For the past 100 years, The East London SPCA has been committed to animal rescue, animal welfare and preventing animal cruelty – in an area which includes several rural communities with a high level of poverty and unemployment, resulting in a high demand for our services.

We don’t turn any animal away. No matter what the breed, condition, age or reason for animals being brought to the SPCA, we’re here for them day and night. We are on call 24/7/365 to respond to rescues and emergencies involving animals.

The SPCA receives NO government support and we rely on the Public to continue in our quest for a cruel free South Africa.

How will my donation be used?

Donors can specify how they would like their donation to be used. Most donations are used for the purchasing of veterinary medicines, pet food, motor vehicle fuel, kennel maintenance, vet and staff remuneration and the general running of the society.

Donations & Adoptions

Running an SPCA requires more than time and effort. It requires finance and the principals’ of sustainability, ethics and accountability. We appeal to the public for financial support to help us achieve these goals.
