Mystery Box Challenge to treat 27 Disabled Women
B and E Conference Centre held a Mystery Box Challenge to treat 27 Disabled Women from around the Buffalo City Metro on Mandela Day 2018.
The ladies were also treated to a pampering session by Beauty Academy International. Joy Duffield Principal of the academy delivered an amazing empowering speech for the ladies.
Then it was time for the two guest teams (Dignity Group and Border Kei Chamber of Business) to compete in the 67 minute cooking challenge – a 3 course meal for the deserving guests.
The Teams: Dignity Group Team (L) and BKCOB Team (R)
The B and E Conference Centre Kitchen cooked the starters while the Dignity Group (who were given a main meal mystery box) took on the BKCOB Team (who were given a dessert mystery box). Both teams performed superbly but in the end the Dignity Group won the challenge by 6 votes. ShowMe East London had been invited to join the BKCOB Team and we were so sad to miss out on this fantastic experience due to prior commitments.
The Food:
The ladies were also given goodie bags to take home with them to help them remember the special day.
The Guests of Honour:
“What counts is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” Nelson Mandela
