The King Golf Club, King Williams Town

Established in 1892, The King Williams Town Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in South Africa. It hosted the South African Open Golf Tournament in 1896 and again in 1902, a year before the establishment of the now popular South African Open.

Situated on the N2 highway, it sits on approximately 70.5 hectares of gently sloping land and consists of two loops of 9 holes, returning to the clubhouse.  The course has a charming, classic old course feel, similar to courses such as Glendower, Royal Johannesburg and Kensington, Kimberley and East London.

The KGC has transformed from being a home of the priviledged to a hub of inclusiveness and development for the historically marginalised communities.  It is also one of a handful of golf clubs that is Black owned and managed with a principal mandate of making golf an inclusive game.

In addition to golf, the Club offers Conferencing Facilities, Wedding & Venue hire facilities, and hosts various events throughout the year.

You can contact them on 043 642 3939 or visit their website.
