Tea in the Trees – Evolving Star in Cintsa’s crown!
As if Tea in the Trees wasn’t perfect enough, they have now made it even better. This beautiful country venue offers one of Cintsa’s most diverse and unique family destinations, just a stones throw away from East London.
Well known for it’s outdoor Restaurant serving delicious home made country fare, owner Kate Bosazza has expanded, building a beautiful indoor/outdoor restaurant that is no longer weather or season dependent, with beautiful vistas facing the sea and double doors opening back onto the charming rustic market village.
Still retaining all the charm of the original venue, the enlarged restaurant is perfect for weddings, functions and those ‘not so perfect’ weather days… as well as for those wishing to gaze out at the sea, from a very unique perch in what appears to be the forest canopy. This ever changing and evolving country venue knows just what today’s stressed out, over worked and under paid average Joe needs to relax.
One can start the ‘city detox’ with a calming and mind relaxing session of Indi Yoga, outdoors under the trees. ‘Breath’ in the clean country air while you ‘strike a pose’ designed to help your body, mind and sole heal and relax. Afterwards, enjoy a beautifully prepared and presented country meal in the dappled shade under the trees (with tea pots & tea cups dangling over your head) or perched above the trees in the indoor restaurant with vistas out towards the sea.
On Sundays, you can enjoy a brunch while listening to the laid back sounds of the resident saxophonist playing sultry tunes at the Food & craft Market, held on the first and last Sunday of every month. Locally produced fresh produce, cheese, freshly squeezed orange juice, nougat, books and a wide assortment of home made clothing and arts & crafts make the Tea in the Trees Market one not to be missed. It is small, intimate and cozy… and one cannot help be charmed by the nature and the laid back country experience of it all. All are welcome, kids and dogs included… but be responsible and pick up any parcels your four legged children may unwittingly drop.
But that is not all. If you scratch below the surface, you will find that Tea in the Trees has much more to offer. Nestled in the forest, just a few steps away from the restaurant, you will find a little gem of a Forest Theatre… that hosts a variety of children’s plays and outdoor theatre events throughout the year. It is a unique, one of a kind experience, and if you have kids or grand kids, one you dare not miss.
It goes without saying that all this charm undoubtedly makes Tea in the Trees the perfect Wedding Venue where you and your loved one can ‘tie the knot’ so to speak. Take your wedding vows on the stage in the forest theatre amongst the trees, with your nearest and dearest looking on. Depending on the size of your party, your reception can be held either in a beautiful bedouin stretch tent or in the newly completed restaurant, perfect for a more intimate affaire. No matter your choice, this country venue offers a very special, unique and ethereal venue for your nuptials.
For the more energetic at heart looking for an adrenaline rush, the Tea in the Trees Walk, Run & Cycle Trails winds through the coastal country forest. The colour coded routes indicate family routes, more technical routes, and if like me you don’t like the hills… there is a route to avoid those too.
Tea in the Trees is kiddie friendly! From the children’s playground to the forest theatre, to the family friendly walks and rides, it is the perfect destination for the whole family. Host your next Kiddies Party out under the trees, with fun filled ‘back in the day’ creative and arty activities… it will bring back your childhood in a flash. And for those parents who are sick of over stimulated sugar crazed children, ask for the healthier party pack that includes some ‘sweeties’ but better party food choices for your little ones. What can I say… healthy country living!
The venue is not only for the little ones though. If you are looking for a venue for a private or corporate function, party or celebration, Kate and her team can accommodate and cater for you in their unique and fresh country style. From special birthdays, anniversaries, baby showers and high teas to rugged outdoor forest explorer team building sessions, corporate christmas parties and everything in between.
And talking about events (as if they don’t have enough on their plates), Tea in the Trees holds a number of their own events throughout the year. Annual events such as Tunes in the Trees Music Festival and Bosazza’s Bonfire Evening to their Summer Tapas & Tunes, there is always something happening under the trees… and it is not ALWAYS tea! And if you find you have imbibed too much of that ‘not always tea’… they ALSO have a little rustic thatched self-catering rondavel where you can spend the night sleeping it off… or maybe even a couple of days escaping it all.
One thing is for sure, this lovely unique country venue never gets stale. It is unique, constantly changing, improving, evolving with the times… and one thing is for sure, Tea in the Trees is always ‘bang on’ with their unique, quality and eclectic offering.
