Nahoon Fisheries & Deli … A surprising Family Foodie Destination!

Like many people, I have spent years driving on Old Transkei Road and have never stopped at Nahoon Fisheries & Deli… that is until recently!  You may think you know what to expect from this ‘fish & chips’ shop… but believe me, just a ‘fish & chips shop’… this is not!

Refreshingly modern and warm, spotlessly clean and filled with yummy meals, Nahoon Fisheries & Deli has something for the whole family.  For fish & seafood lovers, it is a dream.  Deep fried or grilled fish, calamari or prawns served with old style slap potato chips, is the all time favourite of many and is the perfect take-away for the whole family.  They serve kiddies portions for the little ones… while their calamari burgers & fish burgers are a favourite with the teens and adults alike.

If you want to cook your own fresh fish or seafood, sign-up to receive their sms notifications on the days when the fresh fish is delivered to Nahoon Fisheries & Deli, straight from the fishing boats.  Pick up some fresh line fish, salmon, carpenter or hake, along with some beautiful salads from the salad bar, and create your own special meal at home.  The ‘fresh from the boat’ fish & seafood is extremely popular so don’t wait too long or you will miss out.

The biggest surprise at Nahoon Fisheries & Deli is … well… the Deli!  Who knew that this store offered such a wide range of deli meals and takeaways… and that some of the regular and most avid patrons don’t eat fish or seafood at all.

From lamb & chicken curries, babotie, lasagne, quiches & frittatas… to spaghetti & meatballs, samp & beans, roast veg and much, much more… there is something here for the whole family.  The excellent service and wide range of meals, snacks and desserts has made this a top contender on the family take-out list.  With parking available both in front of and behind the shop, access is easy… and if you really don’t feel up to going out… you will find them on the Mr D Delivery App.  And if you happen to pop in during your lunch hour… you may even be lucky enough to get a table and enjoy your meal seated and served on a plate… for a very small fee.

Nahoon Fisheries & Deli also offer catering platters and can put together beautiful fish and seafood platters as well as savoury platters for your next event.  All you need to do is order 24 hours in advance and collect on the day of your event.
