Tips to keep your swimming pool filled during Stage 2 Water Restrictions
We are ever so grateful for the wonderful gentle rain we have had this past week, but the drought is by no means over.
With the Festive Season on the way and a very hot summer predicted, here are 2 tips on how to keep your swimming pool filled and the fun times flowing, even while we are on Stage 2 Water Restrictions and in the midst of an extreme drought.
PVC Drain Pipe Extentions
Attach this roll-out sleeve to your PVC Drain Pipe using a cable tie, facing your swimming pool. When it rains, the rain will force this to roll out and feed the water into your swimming pool. Suited to areas where there is a flat surface.
Extend your PVC Drain Pipe
Where your ground is more uneven and you need to ensure proper water flow, add an elbow and an extended piece of PVC drain pipe to guide the water to your swimming pool. While this is not a pretty solution, it works extremely well, and the extended piece of PVC pipe can be removed and stored elsewhere when it is not raining.
Please Note
When diverting water from your gutters it is important for them to be cleaned of any dirt and plant material so that this does not enter your swimming pool. Adding rain water to your swimming pool will also affect the pools chemistry balance so please be aware and take this into account.
