Water Sports at Albert Falls Dam
That’s one thing about Durbanites, we love the sun and watersports! This makes Albert Falls Dam the perfect venue for an outing.
What is there to do?
Albert Falls Dam is a well known fishing destination. Here you will catch Bass and Carp. The dam is closed for a month every year to allow the Bass to spawn.
If you need something more exciting or physically challenging, why not try water-skiing, windsurfing, sailing or canoeing? There are many trails from where you can do bird watching and game viewing. If you are mountain biking through the reserve, watch out for the eland, blesbok, giraffe, warthog, zebra and the occasional rhino.
Occasionally there are MTB, Multisports and Running events hosted at the Albert Falls Dam. These events make your training routine fun; you get fit and enjoy nature at the same time.
Fishing permits and boat registration is attended to at the gates.
Can I stay over?
The campsites are superb, the perfect description for campsites with hot running water and the other basic luxuries we are so accustomed to. The campsites have well maintained lawns, ablutions and braai areas.
If you don’t like ‘roughing it’, stay at the cottages instead.
