A hike through New Germany Nature Reserve with Amblers
The New Germany Nature Reserve, near Pinetown, doesn’t only boast easy to navigate trails, but a walk-in aviary, a bird hide and live snakes on display too!
The New Germany Nature Reserve is one of Durban’s most popular reserves and an ideal venue for a family outing – the children will enjoy the aviary and snakes. You can contact the New Germany Nature Reserve on 031 262 8239 and they will be able to assist you if you wish to book a guided trail; many school groups enjoy this venue every year.
On the 3rd of March 2013 the Amblers Hiking Club hiked through the New Germany Nature Reserve. Joining this club on Sunday afternoons (2pm sharp, every Sunday) provides the perfect opportunity to explore the amazing reserves, fona and flora within Durban and the surrounding areas. If you want to find out more about the Amblers Hiking Club hikes in & around Durban, contact David Hancocks on 031 266 8602 or 072 615 0559.
