The African Conservation Trust

The ACT is an 18-year-old, KZN-based conservation charity Trust with a historical footprint of working throughout southern Africa.

We are one of the new breeds of conservation and environment NGOs beginning to make an impact on the international arena and our energetic, 21st-century thinking and actions are protecting our planet and changing the way we live in it.

The ACT's major focus areas are climate change adaptation, endangered species, conservation agriculture, sustainable use of natural resources (water, land, energy, fauna & flora) and biodiversity preservation and expansion.

We also work extensively in the Heritage sector, using modern technology to preserve Africa's rich history and culture.

We envision a world that is able to sustain human life, with abundant natural resources, which people can use not only to survive but to flourish.

The ACT is level 1 B-BBEE accredited and is a member of the IUCN.
Our finances are audited annually and open for public review.
We are proud of our key strengths of transparency, financial accountability, strong governance and our ability to manage significant amounts of donor funding.
