I had to call an urgent meeting with Municipal officials and other relevant stakeholders to resolve the matter. I urge the community to work together with the Municipality and the police so that it will be easy to address issues of crime. The Municipality is planning to have more campaigns to keep the community busy and alive,” Mkhize said.
Constable Lungi Jama from Hillcrest Police Station said unemployment and poverty were rife in the area, leading some young people to turn to crime.
