RE/MAX PANACHE, BRIGHTENING LIVES!
The Children at Ferndale Primary School in Newlands East came back to school at the beginning of their final term for a big surprise! Their classrooms had all been transformed with coats of beautiful blue paint, thanks to the team from RE/MAX Panache who took the task of painting the walls of classrooms at Ferndale as their 2017 Community Upliftment project.
“For the past 3 years RE/MAX Panache have undertaken various school beautification projects as part of our community initiatives. Ferndale school really needed a burst of colour, and some much needed repairs in the classrooms and our team agreed to take up the challenge. Our agents set out to raise the funds for the makeover with a raffle, as well as donating monies from their earnings” said Broker Owner Grant Gavin. During the school holidays the RE/MAX Panache team met with some of the staff and members of the Governing Body at Ferndale to transform the school in time for the start of the new term.
Paul Meyers, the Chairman of the Governing Body of Ferndale who drove the initiative from the schools side commented “This is the first time in fifteen years that the school has seen a new coat of paint. We are extremely grateful to the RE/MAX Panache team for their generous assistance.
With over 1000 pupils at a school that was only designed for 450 pupils, the teachers and governing body are always on the lookout for ways to make the children’s lives easier. Commented Deputy Principal, Eartha Conning “We would love to give the children lessons in the environment, and to this end, I would like each grade to have their own little garden to tend to. We also need to extend our library and are always looking for reading books for the children.
