THE OZZIE GLADWIN CANOE MARATHON!
The Ozzie Gladwin Canoe Marathon, one of South Africa’s premier one day canoe marathon’s, always attracts the top FNB Dusi Canoe Marathon contenders and 2017 will be no different as K2 combinations try to find their feet ahead of the three-day showdown in February 2018.
The race this year will follow the K2 format with the 2018 Dusi being a K2 event and Albert Falls Dam will provide the perfect backdrop for one of the most exciting early season showdowns!
Starting on Albert Falls Dam, the Ozzie Gladwin takes paddlers along a 4km flat water lap before they run a short 1km portage around the dam wall and then get back into their boats for 21km of paddling fun on the upper uMngeni River that winds down to the finish line at Thornvale Farm on the Wartburg Road.
