WBHS winners of the 2013 Kloof Soccer Tournament
The Kloof Tournament is an annual event that attracts soccer talent from far and wide; this year was no different, with teams arriving from Port Elizabeth, Bloemfontein and Stellenbosch. It’s a tough 3 days for the high school soccer players – definitely not a place for those that cannot stand up for themselves on a soccer field.
Westville Boys High School walked away with the trophy. This is not a first for WBHS, this local school has become a frequent winner in past years. This year, what makes it more memorable is that for the first time in the tournament’s history, a goalkeeper – Neil Boshoff from WBHS – was selected player of the tournament. The opposition found it very difficult to get the ball past Neil, and when the games went into penalty shootout, WBHS was sure to win with Neil blocking goals by the opposition, time after time.
