The Temple of Understanding,Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple
Captivate your mind, body and soul by entering the Spiritual world at Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple. A complete journey of exploration awaits you, covering all aspect of our Earthly world as well as that of the Spiritual world…
The journey begun around the early 1980’s when Srila Phabhupada visited South Africa and told the devotees that he would like to see a temple built here similar to the Krishana-Balarama Temple in Vrindavana – and so the quest started to bring to life the symbolism in the Temple Architecture.
After many obstacles and restricted funds were overcome a glorious Architectural profile took shape and Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple that dominates the Chatsworth skyline was born. The building is not only a Symbol of greatness and a place of worship, but it’s witness to hard work, effort, dedication and the belief that strength, wisdom and intelligence manifests in us through a higher power.
Today we can reap the benefits of all that hard work that brought about this Holy Place. You can share in the delight that this place brings to the community, and be amazed by the beauty and detail of the building. Towering domes of white and gold rising above a dazzling octagonal roof of stainless steel, the Sri Sri Radha Radhanath Temple is totally unique in every way,it incorporates very unusual blend of modern and traditional architectural features, whether it’s the general lay-out, the positioning, or different styles they used to create different moods. Every aspect of the building and design has its own symbolic significance. Interestingly the building is designed in the shape of The “Lotus Flower” that’s also a symbol of “whatever happens in life, you will always stay afloat through your beliefs, karma’s and actions”.
The Temple of Understanding is open to everyone that feels the need to visit. You will be welcomed by accommodating people, that will gladly assist in any of your questions about beliefs or general day-to-day matters. From my personal experience visiting this magnificent Temple, gave me a better understanding when it comes to different Cultures and beliefs, it opened a new window to my knowledge, and I came to realize that you don’t have to be openly religious or go to Church,Temple, or Mosque, (because many people don’t have the luxury or option to do so) to state that you are religious. It’s through your actions towards others and the belief in yourself and your greater purpose in life that allows you to deem yourself religious. You can practice your religion wherever you feel most comfortable.
