A day of fishing & sun at Nagle Dam
Nagle Dam & Game Reserve is an ideal family destination where dad can teach the boys how to fish. Imagine a relaxed day of reading mom, while dad keeps the boys busy and later lights a fire for a braai.
The setting is the picturesque Valley of 1000 Hills. You travel quite a distance, meandering through hills and along a river through Kwa Ximba to get to it – you’ll feel that you’re light years away from the city.
Directions
From Durban, head towards Pietermaritzburg along the N3 tollroad. Take exit 43 to Mpumalanga / Hammersdale / Inchange and turn right over the bridge. Keep going until you see the Caltex garage on your left, turn right opposite the garrage towards the Abattoir. After about 3km, take a left to Nagle Dam – there’s a signboard. Now you will travel for about 20km along a windy road until you get to a fork, keep left still following the Nagle Dame signboards and you’ll see the gate on your right.
