Young South African collects thousands of bottle caps
Declan Tucker, a Grade 1 learner at Camps Bay Primary School’s Preparatory Campus, managed to collect thousands of bottle caps for a project that exchanges recyclable materials for wheelchairs.
Breadtags for Wheelchairs accepts the collection of bread tags and bottle caps. Once a specific weight of either has been collected, the funds received from recycling them is enough to purchase a wheelchair for someone in need.
The Breadtags for Wheelchairs project has been running at Camps Bay Primary School’s Preparatory Campus for over 10 years now. Started in 2008 by Mary Honeybun, the project is now run by Lorna Norris.
