Women are running for change in South Africa, hoping to end GBV for good!
Sabrina Walter, an avid runner, grew tired of being worried about running by herself. She decided to launch ‘Catch Me If You Can’, a running club for women with a focus on building friendships, practising good health and offering safety in numbers.
The running club is now the largest all-women club in South Africa. The women in the club unite to protect each other and to stand up against gender-based violence.
Since the clubs launch, Sabrina has done everything to offer a safe community for her fellow running mates. They now share the best and most beautiful routes across South Africa.
Coming up in November, their Johannesburg chapter is hosting the Women For Change run. It is an 8km run through Sandton City. The run will be supporting the TEARS Foundation. Mara Glennie started TEARS to offer support to women and children in their darkest times.
