All Blacks could face picket at Cape Town test with South African trade union planning TV coverage protest
The All Blacks may face a picket line in Cape Town with South Africa’s largest trade union threatening to stage a protest over the lack of free-to-air television coverage of Springboks tests.
The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) – which has 1.8 million members – is planning a picket at the Newlands ground where the Springboks play the All Blacks on Saturday (NZT Sunday).
Union officials will meet with the South African Rugby Union in Cape Town on Thursday to decide if the protest will go ahead, South Africa’s Sport24 website reported.
