Revitalising the Ribbon Gate…
Yesterday morning, the Ribbon Gate memorial in Tokai Forest was lovingly restored, thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Parkscape team and community, Cape {town} Etc reports.
The Ribbon Gate stands as a poignant tribute to a young life tragically lost in the fynbos of Lower Tokai on 7 March, 2016, and serves as a memorial to all victims of gender-based violence.
During the recent cleanup, it was discovered that some of the painted rocks originally placed at the site had been removed, with some relocated to the memorial cross where 16-year-old Franziska Blöchliger was tragically murdered.
