Rescued sea turtle, Olaf, bounces back after NSRI rescues…
Sea turtle, Olaf is slowly but surely returning to his old self after he was rescued by the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) after they found him injured at Strand beach on Tuesday.
The Hawksbill sea turtle, who appeared to be injured, was found and was wrapped in a towel and taken off the beach, according to NSRI station commander Alan Meiklejohn.
“Arrangements were made with Two Oceans Aquarium to collect the turtle in Strand,” said Meiklejohn.
He said the turtle was then transported to Two Oceans Aquarium where it was placed in the care of vets.
The tiny sea turtle was treated for hypothermia and malnutrition.
