Mild, Mature Or Simply Blue
CAPE TOWN, FEBRUARY 2020 – Whether on an Al Fresco platter, fresh sandwich or simply as a midnight snack, once you have the thought of delicious cheese in your head, there is only one cure for it – a piece of delicious cheese! For cheese lovers, watching the renaissance of cheese grow over the last decade has been absolutely fabulous. But finding the selection to top all others remains a challenge. Until now that is – Cape Town’s favourite weekend destination, Bay Harbour Market, welcomes Chaz Cheeses.
“We have carefully curated our selection of cheeses from a few artisan farms, not readily available in mainstream retail,” says Chantelle Le Sar of Chaz Cheeses, “All our cheeses are made the old fashioned way and we have a range from Forest Hill (Brie, Camembert, Mountain, Boerenkaas) which is a certified Halaal range.”
“One would imagine that due to South Africa’s hot climate, people would be opting for lighter cheeses. But our most popular cheeses are the more mature and ‘stinky’ cheese as I call them,” chuckles Le Sar. “I also love to experience our range with our customers. So, by all means, pop in, relax, and sample various bits from our range.”
